Wipers no longer intermittent

A few days ago, I lost the "intermittent" function of my wipers, the intermittent is now the same as the "slow" speed.

In addition, when I turn the wipers off, it stops immediately, rather than returning to the bottom position. This is a bit irritating, since I have to manually do intermittent now, and also have to time turning it off so the blades aren't sitting and obscuring my view.

What could be broken here? Do I just need to replace the stalk?

most likely its the motor assy u should be able to pick one up at the local parts stor just plug it in first and check its operation and worse come to worse you can just return it if it ends up being the stalk

Relay might be going bad causing you to only have 1 speed.

I'd assume that if it were the motor it wouldn't work at all, right?

I have two speeds still; intermittent and slow position are slow, fast is fast.

same here but only fast works for me.....its not the motor nor the relay.....its the switch by the steering wheel..... no way to really fix it except to replace the whole switch then you can have intermittent position settings.

I was hoping that wouldn't be the issue. I have slow and fast, but no intermittent. Sounds like my switch is bad too.

Well, the switch has nothing to do with the wipers returning to PARK. That is the motor's job. Though you could have a bad switch and motor, replace the motor and you should be good.

hey, i have the exact same thing going, all i ordered was a new switch and it was fine
