turbo upgrade is this possible?

ok i found many articles on the Big28 but none that answered my question
My buddy has a 97 AWD that blew a turbo.
He wants toget a new turbo.
He can get a good deal on a FP Big 28 and wants to buy it.
Can he install and run this turbo with just a
3" Turbo back exhaust
Stock intercooler
1g BOV
K&N
Boost Controller
Fuel Pump Rewire
If not what more must be done as supporting mods for this turbo?
does he need to upgrade his injectors or regulator?
Will he need to get DSMlink or a S-AFC??

Yes he can run that turbo.

No he cannot turn the boost up as high as possible and max it out.

I would tell him no more than 15 lbs...but I don't have any experience with that turbo on the stock fuel so it could be more or less.

I'd get at least a 190 (might as well go 255 though since the prices are similar) and some 550s and AFC to be safe. He will be much happier with the turbo if he can use all of its potential

Thanks guys all info is good. He is gonna go ahead and get the Big28 and get a Walbro 255.......ill let ya know how it turns out. I know this is a little off topic, but where did everyone learn how to us their S-AFC??

He will be good with just a Low pressure 255 and a FMIC to fully utilize the power of that turbo. I suggest looking on the 1/4 times list for someone that ran that turbo and get some cliff's notes on their setup!
