London,
:laser: As my earlier thread stated I messed the top end of my engine up and in all my calls to different places I found a 2000 eclipse GTX engine. Is it possible for me to put it in my 90 laser RS 16V DOHC NT. Would I have to replace the computer aswell?? Or is it just not possible? Thanks for any help!

Anything is possible with enough time and money.

But to really answer the question, since I do not know the orientation of the 2000+ motors, I do know that the 4G63 in your car is in no way, shape, or form related to the 2000 Eclipse motor. Just find another 4G63 and swap it in, it will be much easier and guarenteed to fit.

Very true, I found one with 193,000Kms for $800.00 Canadian, dunno if thats a good deal or not, anyone know where to get a good rebuilt one? I guess for now I'll just get the head off and look at the pistons to see if they hit hard or not. Thanks .

That price seems pretty steep for a N/T motor with 120K miles on the clock. Look around, you can find better deals I'm sure. I've personally had luck with JDM motors - I purchased a motor for a 3000GT N/T shipped to my door for just under $900. The N/T motors are $380+shipping at osakajdmmotors.com - the place I bought my 3000GT motor from. Though if you go this direction, it is always wise to perform a 60K tuneup. Those little motors are quite peppy and for the most part lower mileage, a much better investment in my opinion. However, in the end you might end up paying near $1k for it. Again, look around, keep an eye open, try to find a wrecked car with a good motor, etc. or fix the one you have; that's what I would do. But it is ultimately your decision. Good luck whichever way you choose.
