i have been leakin boost for a while, pulled off my manifold and saw my sleeve from turbo to manifold was all jacked and my gaskets were bout gone so i know where it was coming from, problem is what do i do about a sleeve because it looks like the manifold and turbo holes are two different sizes since i have a evoIII big 16g and not a stock turbo, i dont know where to get a sleeve from to fix it or what to do...any suggestions?? i need to get this car back on the road asap!

The ring that I'm assuming you are talking about is just to line up the manifold and turbo, you don't need it at all and it's removed when you port the turbo.

Next you you leaking boost (positive air pressure) or exhaust pre turbo? You need to use proper terms as I'm goof to assume it's an exhaust leak due to bad gasket. If that's the case, pick up a new oem mls gasket for it.

The only thing I would think of it helping is to keep any sort of turbulence for occurring as the exhaust passes the gap where the ring is. I can see how it would help against a possible gasket blow out as well but I do believe that would be a rare occurrence and only happen on a gasket that's already on it's legs.

Paul I do have to agree that if the turbo is unported then it would be good to keep but IMO I wouldn't fret about it not being there either.

That ring is worth running if you have an unported collector on the manifold and are still running a 6cm turbine housing. Search around here and you'll find several explanations from dsm-onster as to why you should keep it.

That ring helps keep some of the pressure off the gasket. I blew that gasket more frequently when it wasn't installed.

Agreed.:thumb:

I am having recurring issues with the gasket deforming where the shape of the opening becomes oval instead of round, even with the oem MLS gasket (I've only seen it happen with the EVO3 turbine housing). In hindsight, I wish I had not ported the collector and turbine inlet so that I could use the sealing ring.

RRE sells them. $7 I believe.
