I have a 14b turbo with a stuck manifold bolt. Snapped off at the top and I've tried the double nut method with no success. I don't have a torch to heat it but my question is should I have a nut welded on or just take to a machine shop? Hopefully this is the last broken bolt for now. Thanks

Lots of wd-40 and try the double nut method but tighten with an impact gun and then remove with an impact gun and comes out like nothing, I did the same thing as u and tried everything but the impact gun worked the best

I've been soaking it daily with pb blaster for about a week now. Also the threads aren't longer enough to get a good seal with the outer nut but I've had it really tight to where I was hitting the wrench with a 2.5lb hammer. I'll try the impact wrench before weld or shop.

Your just having no luck are you, you probably didn't need to start a new thread for this, but if your going to have somene weld a nut to it, have them weld a bolt to the broken stud in your head too. When reassembiling after your done use antiseize so this doesnt happen on the turbo, and on the threads of the manifold studs that are facing out.

You can also try a vice and a breaker bar

Yeah your right should have just put into my exhaust manifold thread but didn't want multiple problems in one thread even though they are pretty much the same. I actually finally got it about 3 minutes ago. I did the double nut method again but this time I stood on the turbo and had my little wife stand on the wrench and it finally broke free without damaging anything. Again thanks and sorry for a thread not needed.
