:dsm:hey guys i just recently bought a 98 eclipse GST with an upgraded 16g turbo..but that's not my problem. The previous owner included an HKS turbo timer..i think it's either type 0 or type 1, not sure because it has never been able to function, it's wired up but it doesn't work or turn on. my friend told me to buy an adapter to just plug and play while a mechanic at a shop told me to pay him 200+ to relay my turbo timer and alarm so that they won't conflict with each other, he said it wasn't necessary to buy an adapter. So is there an easier way to do this...cheaper too? PLEASE HELP!

Buy the harness. The turbo timer wont interfere with your stock alarm. Many people have done it. It should take no more the 5 minutes to hook it up.

Although, you say its already wired in. It's possible that it no longer works.

yea i was thinking about buying the harness too, but what kindof work is involved with it?

Get the harness. It makes installing/removing the turbo timer clean and easy.

Taken from the link Eric posted earlier.

The Harness

Remove the three screws that hold the steering column cover on. They are on the underside of the cover. Remove the cover.

Right in front of you there should now be the main moulded blue ignition plug. Separate the plugs from each other, and you will see that they match the HKS harness perfectly... one male, one female. Match them up and plug them both in. So far, this is all the same as the basic instructions that come with the HKS TT unit.

i unscrewed it earlier and saw that the previous owner had already connected those wires and i was afraid of messing up so i left it untouched. somehow i remember more than 3 wires..although i may be wrong I will take a pic and post it up just to make sure.

I went ith a greddy turbo timer with a plug n play wire harness and works great 4 me. I have friends with blitz and HKS units and have nothing but problems. Just my $.02
