Turbo timer help

Hey guys, i habe a greddy turbo timer. Today i walked out of work to only realize that my car was dead because i left the lights on.... No biggie, got a jump from my dad, and everything started up great after a few trys tho. On my way home i realized my turbo timer was off, so, i tried to turn it on several times and it just wont turn on. Could i have shorted something out when trying to turn on the car when i was jumping it?

Possibly. but first thing firsts, you need to check the wiring on the TT to make sure nothing came loose.

most likely shorted it. i had a greddy TT on my 90. after jumping the car off. TT wouldn't turn on and eventually would shut my car off on its own intermittently. Ended up having to replace the TT and haven't had a problem out of her yet

I wasn't aware that this could cause it to short but does make sense.

For people's (me included) knowledge, is there something that should be done to prevent a short if we need to jump the car? Would just pulling the power supply cure it?

honestly im not sure. I would say pullin the harness would protect it. but cant be quoted on it.

its electricity, pull harness apart, touch "hot side" to metal to dissipate resident current before re-attaching would be my best guess.

the problem is it runs straight to your ignition with no protection
