Turbo surging problem...

I hear that the turbo surging comes from the BOV not being right for what ever set-up that u have... I have a HKS BOV, don't know if its a Knock off or not cause i put it next to my friends genuine HKS and it was identical. I have a 16g turbo with a injen air filter. What would be the best BOV to get that can keep it from surging?

Best one? i use a greddy s i get some flutter, but, do a blt, a 1g bov is a great one to buy .

Where can I get a 1g bov pipping with the flange cause I have a 1g bov friend of mine gave it to me?

extreme psi has a oem part for the flange its the whole piece or try ebay, classifieds.

I also wanted to add that the car would cut off me from time to time when i let off the gas coming to a red light or speed bump could that have something to do with the BOV also...

A vacuum leak possible would do that, check the lines.

If your bov is not recirculated you'll have the dieing at stops. The hks super sequential are horrible for low boost compressor surge. I had a turbonetics raptor (basically a greddy copy) that I turned almost all the way soft and it would still surge under 10psi. They just do not open fast enough to vent or even open at low boost and that's were the surge comes from. I now have a synapse diverter valve and have zero issues for the money in my opinion its the best valve on the market.

Friend of mine had the HKS on his eclipse as well and he said his did the same thing. I may try a turbosmart BOV or the 1g BOV...

I have a crushed 1g and I get surge under 5psi. So they aren't great for low boost/daily driver setups either.

You can run a synapse BOV. they are supposed to never surge. Watch their video's on youtube. My buddy had one on a wrx that was great and ran 35psi all day
