I'm looking into buying a new turbo... At first i was looking into the EVOIII B16g, but then i thought about it for a while, and realized i'll have pretty much all the supporting parts for a bigger turbo by the time i buy into one. So now i'm thinking i want to look into an 18G or a 20G. I do understand that spool up time suffers compared to stock spool, but i know the power increase is incomparable! I was wondering what i can do to a turbo to increase spool up time, once i have it. Like what exactly will porting do, and i know clipping isn't something for me, cause i don't generally drive in the higher RPM's, like on the track so that won't help me at all. Basically i'm looking to support my turbo further by having it spool up faster than how it would perform in the untouched newly installed mode. Can anyone possibly suggest different turbo's that they've been really happy with, and their spool up time (RPM). Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and oh yeah, I'm a 2g, 97 GST, with apexi n1 catback, injen intake, greddy type s bov, nology hotwires(sparkplug wires), and soon to have a 3" dp and highflow cat. Thanks guys.

HP numbers?

What is an acceptable rpm for you?

You will need bigger injectors than the 550's you have in the wishlist.

I have a 20G (TDO6H) that sees a good 12 psi at 3.5k and hits 20psi by 3.9-4k. The boost hits hard and fast once you get it to the 3k mark. It is very fun. If you are looking for a quicker spool than this, you need to look at the more expensive BB type turbos. Most larger turbos see good boost around 3.5k, anything over that is a turbo you will need alot more support for.
