Turbo sounds weird kind of whines or squeals

ok guys so my car has been a mess ever since i changed my clutch and got it back from a fathers friend who did it. first the car feels completely untuned, i just got it tuned 4 weeks ago, the turbo spools normally but at 4k rpms it starts to squeal or whine, idk if thats why i feel that loss in power or maybe because my right axle went out, my rpms also dont seem to respond quick at all its really slow, i have a super afc maybe it got dis-configured. what worries me the more is the turbo sound though, what could be that power loss i feel?

check for shaft play in the turbo your turbos probably shot or its not getting oil check your lines

sounds like a boost leak... turbos tend to be overworked when they are trying to push air that doesn't want to compress because it is leaking out of a supposed-to-be sealed system.

i dont think so because my vac is fine i would have noticed it

You have started at least 3 threads now asking about this same problem about a squealing turbo, slow spool and a loss of power, and every time there have been responses to do a boost leak test and to check for turbo shaft play. Those seem like good areas to start looking.

Your dads friend didnt happen to take your car for a "quick" drive ?

vacuum is only affected by leaks after the throttle plate. anything before that is considered a boost leak. anything after is a vac leak and most likely also a boost leak.

do yourself a favor and at least check for shaft play and do a boost leak test. checking shaft play is free and a boost leak tester costs like $10 to make. even if you don't have a compressor you can take it to a shop that has a tire filler outside for free.
