Turbo making strange noises

The turbo boosts perfectly fine. But just recently started making this wierd noise. Kind of a whining sound with some buzzing too it dont know how to explain it. Can definately tell its the turbo or at least something related too it because I can watch the boost gauge as the needle its 0 it will make the sound for about a half second than all is normal. The turbo does have 263k miles on it The sound goes right along with the turbo spool up. Like I said its not constant, just for a split second.

either your turbo is going out, or you have a bent fin. Time for a bigger turbo

I Have a similar problem. Once my gets above 10psi on my stock t25 the turbo whines, But boost pressure does not drop. I'm hoping nothing major goes wrong because I'm planning on an EVOIII 16g as soon as I get my tax return. did you ever find out what it was with your car?

Check for cracks in the manifold or turbine housing.

if it sounds like someome blowing in a coke bottel it means the turbo is going bad time for upgrade
