I have an automatic 1997 Eclipse GS. The engine in it is blown. I have a chance to buy a 2nd gen eclipse engine with turbo ... is this a good idea? Is there a lot of cost involved to modifying to get the turbo engine in? Or should I just look for a non-turbo engine. I won't be installing it myself because I am a newbie to internals ... please advise ... thank you.

It requires lots of custom work that really just isn't worth it, you'd be better off selling your non-turbo and getting a turbo'd model.

For the money it would take to swap in a turbo motor, you could buy another NT block and build it with forged internals.

Yeah what ^^^^he said. Think about all the stuff you will have to get. ECU, Transmission, exhaust, fuel system.....i think the list goes on. all the money spent on that could probably get you a used GSX/TSI. :talon: :thumb:
