i was wondering if theres a difference between the Stock T25 Turbo on a Hatch DSM and the Stock T25 on a Spyder and what would be a good upgrade for the spyder????

They use the same T25 turbo. Lots of threads on here about turbo selection. The Spyder is a heavier car so maybe take that into consideration when determining how much power you would like. Also traction will be an issue for a FWD. But it really depends on your goals and how you will be driving your car. Let us know so we can help you out more.

well its gonna be used as a daily driver and for "street use" i told him a Big 16G GT would be perfect for his use but the guy at the local performance shop told him he wouldnt feel the difference between the T25 and a Big 16G GT WTF and the guy said he should go with a 20G but with that he has to get new injectors, Manifold and External wastegate. soo yeah

WTF If the guy at the local performance shop thinks there will be no difference in power between the T25 and Big 16G, tell him to find a different performance shop. :toobad:

The 16G turbos are widely regarded as one the best daily driver/street turbos. Easy install, internally gated, quick spool, and relatively inexpensive. But quick spool and FWD can sometimes work against eachother. 20G also gives good bang for the buck but may require more supporitng mods. I have no personal experience with 50 trims but I know some guys with FWD prefer it for the later spool. Maybe some guys who are running it with FWD can chime in.
BTW, very noticeable difference between T25 and 16G...feels like a different car.

I have a big 16g just sitting in my garage. I just put my car back together and ported my 14b and fixed my flapper that was causing some lag issues. Now 1st and 2nd gear are pretty usless at wot. Now I have decided to wait to find a awd before I put the 16g on anything. (I am sure my attitude will change in the summer time) The car will be for "street use" but does he have any hp goals or know what he wants. A 14b is a cheap upgrade from the t-25. The install kit will cost you more than the turbo in most cases. And the install kit would work for a 16g down the road so you have to buy it one way or the other.

actually he said an 18 g...he said the "Super 20g would be borderline overkill and would hit like nitrous at around 4,000 rpm." he (with a dsm that dynoed at over 500) and ronald (400 horses on his rx7) said for street the 16 would spool quick but i'd get bored with it quick...plus i have a fmic rated for 400 and i'll be damned if i dont milk every last pony out of the intercooler :thumb:
(and extreme psi's rating for the 16 was between 360-380)
and yes, we have fwd, so faster spool time on the turbos (16g) mean we spin b/c our lack of traction means that aaron's ### mustang still beats me....plus, i dont want 2 pull an adam and have no top end

"if you ain't first, you last"

bad yoshi, get a damn turboback alrdy:beatentodeath:
