Hey im ording my turbo in the morning, but before i spend 700 bucks im jsut curios if any one else has any great ideas. It seems like everytime i buy something there is a better deal the next day. I have a ported 2g mani, 1g tb, prothane motor mounts, full greddy ic kit, injen intake, n1, short throw, afpr, walbro 255. You know the basics. I'm only 17 and college is right aroudn the corner so i only have about 699 to spend on the turbo it self. I dont really like the to4b v tim etc. I have read alot of bad crap about their spool etc. So im planning on getting the 2g solution kit from tc. com with the the evo gt not the MHI. I know all the bad stuff abotu the gt, but im willign to risk it. Anyone got any better ideas than this for my price range. I wanna stay internally gated because of cost and i only am planning on going safc2 so abotu 660cc's is my limit.

Save the rest of your cash for food and beer in college.

This man speaks the truth. Beer gets spendy.

As for the GT over the MHI I really cant comment because I have owned neither. However, after seeing the results from a local DSMer I would buy the real thing.

Do as Stapl3 said, I think you would be happy.

slowboy has an ENTIRE writeup on the comparisons of the EVO III and the EVO GT turbo chargers.

Basically the bottom line is, the MHI is built from Good strong Materials, and the GT is built from crap they cant identify.

goto sbr and read it.

No offense, but NONE of this data is substantiated in a way that can be easily interpreted. We have tons of threads on the site that have become EVO III vs. EVO GT threads and I don't think we need to start another flame way. Let the GT stand the test of time and then we'll see how it fares against the MHI unit before passing judgement.

This needs to be closed.

To the thread starter: I'm locking this thread simply because, it sounds like you already have a plan. Asking if there are "better ideas", is only going to start a GT vs. MHI war.

If you feel confident about about the GT, buy it. If you are hesitant, then do a little more research. After all, there are threads on the subject.

The last thing I want to see is yet another debate.
