i have been working on a buddy of mine's gsx awd 2g, i just finishied swaping in a new rebuilt 6 bolt block the mods are balance shaft removed, arp head bolts and hks head gasket. the head is freshly rebuilt also from a 1g, mods are oversized valves mild port and 280 BC cams and HKS cam gears. he has all the suporting mods dsmlink front mount etc. he is getting short on money and all i need to finish the car are these little questions to be answered.

what turbo would you go for to make the moust power? internally gated please spool rpm not a problem as long as it makes the moust power with this setup.
does he need an aftermarket intake manifold?
280 cams are they too big?
what is the average HP with this setup?

please help i want to finish this project ASP...

Anything internally-gated for that setup is a bad idea. Internal gates cannot hold enough boost to push bigger turbos into their efficiency range.

If it were me, HX40 / BC280's / JMFab or Magnus intake.

If you're short on funds, the stock 1G intake manifold and throttle body will do just fine. A HX40 will remain your most affordable turbo choice with the most potential.

where can i get this turbo?

bc280 are they too big?

thanks for the help

- Anywhere Holset turbos are sold. Occasionally eBay.

- Absolutely not. They'll be rather boring on the street as you'll never reach they're full potential in traffic, but they will make a serious rush of power throughout the boost range all the way to redline once you hit the open road.

i am looking to get this turbo

is this a good size i like the price on these turbos.

PTE turbos wouldn't be my first choice. Some buddies of mine have had some major issues with PTE durability lately. PTE's DSM bolt-on turbine housing is also poorly matched to the Garrett turbine wheels they're using. You're better off going with a T3 manifold and turbine housing if you're set on Garrett.

I've cleansed my hands of PTE turbos permanently....I won't even buy one as a core to rebuild and resell anymore. Holset and Borg turbos are the future for DSM's.
