I wouldnt call myself a newbie but cash has always stoped me from buying the things I need to tune.I will be buying a setup soon and I was just looking for a little advice on what would be the best.I was thinking about a data logger and a AFC but again advice would still be nice.I know stand alones will always be best but thats still far from my price range. My car is a 95 GSX I have all of the basic upgrades intake exhaust etc. the turbo Im running is a 16g with a 3in. turbo back, walboro 255,aeromotive FPR,ACT 2100,for now the sidemount will still be in use and I would also like to use the stock injectors for a little while longer(until I get more cash).Any advice on what setups work well or the basics of tuning would be very appreciated.Web sites with info on these things would also be helpful thanx

I know tuning changes from car to car so Im not looking for specifics just advice on what setups have worked well for others and mistakes others have made so I can avoid them

so I take it nobody has any advice.Sorry for bumping but I was hoping I would get at least get one reply.

Here is one reply.

This is "My Opinion" cause I am limited to how much I can spend on performance stuff and I feel like I am in the same boat as you.

You definetly need a Datalogger of some sort. And a SAFC (to do it cheaply). Once you get that, you need a Wide Band o2 sensor. When you can log Timing, and WB o2, you can tune the ECU and fuel to the amount of boost you want to run.

You'll see quickly how heat soak on your SMIC, and IDC on your stock 450's, affects your power. You'll have to stay below 15 psi to keep good timing, and pray you don't have fuel cut.

So to make some more power, you need:

650cc injectors
Datalogger
Wideband o2
FMIC

I have FIC 650's and controlled by a SAFC and I have never felt Fuel Cut....ever.
I still need the above noted items to make more power.

Good luck, that stuff there costs some dough.

Thanx I appreciate the advice I own a frontmount core but once again money has kept me from buying end tanks and piping for it would you recomend doing that before tuning

I don't know what I would recommend it that situation.

If I had a Intercooler core, I would......I dunno.

Idealy, you would want to get all the parts I listed together.....Put them on.....THEN tune.

If your car is okay right now, leave it alone modding wise and try to raise some cash for the stuff you need. I hate to just do one thing, and really not get any benefit from it. Put all that stuff on and I bet you can tune in around another 50-60 hp.....to the wheels!!
