Tuning Question

Ok, so I just hooked up my SAFC ll today (incredibly easy) and did the initial setup and the car runs fine, well it runs the same way it did before the install. I setup the monitoring mode and such, and started messing around with the low and high settings (all +, no -, don't want to run lean and pull too much timing). My question is, how can I possibly tune my car? I have no logger, wb o2, egt gauge, or anything for that matter to see any changes I make. I plan on having it professionally tuned this spring/summer with some 550s, but I would like to have it running more efficiently before then. Is there anything I can do until then? I have read the tech articles about SAFC tuning, and realize that a logger is a must to really get anywhere, but is their anything I can do until I get a logger? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hokay, so, I have realized that butt dynoing isnt the way to go, and that inorder to tune properly I need a logger. What are some good logging software out there? I.E. what works the best with our cars? Also, would a PDA do just as fine as a laptop when viewing/storing data? I've looked into some logging devices, but I have no clue as to which ones are good and what is a good price. Thanks.

Also..NEVER EVER try to change settings on your car without a logger to see whats happening inside the car when you change settings! ITs a sure way to get yourself a reason for buying a new motor!!!

IF you are pretty experienced with tuning you can get a base tune down but ONLY if you have some experience of the feel when the car starts to pull timing or the sound of the exaust.
