I'm doing a budget rebuild on my 6 bolt and am at a crossroads on which piston/rod setup to go with. I've done alot of reading and research on the use of 2g pistons with the 1g rods (with some machine work of course) and my biggest concern is the more intense tuning situation. My current way of "tuning" my car is an SAFC II (nothing special) until later down the road when a dsmlink is in the question. My question is, with the higher comp ratio of the hybrid setup, will a SAFC II cut it for tuning or am I better off sticking with the 1G pistons as not to raise anymore issues with keeping the tune in check? I like the benefits of the 2G/1G piston/rod combo, but if my current tuning setup isn't going to cut it, ill stick with the 1G's.
