hey guys, need to get some information.. I bought A set of wiseco forged stroker pistons along with a set of manley I-beam turbo tuff rods. I wanted to know if there is any guys out there running this combo and what are the certain power levels these will hold up to.. I am building a 2.3L 6-bolt stroker and i was looking to get the car into the middle to upper 500AWHP.. i just wnated to make sure this combo will hold up to this amount of abuse?

Thanks in advanced guys

Are you swapping out your engine in your 93? 93 engines had a 7 bolt just so you know... I would need part numbers from the pistons and rods to give a definite answer. But based on what I've seen from Wiseco Pistons and Manley rods you should be good. Look them up on some vendors websites to see what they rate them at.

Yeah I have a 6 bolt out of a 91 that is at the machine shop as we speak.. I have tried to call Manley, but it seems like evry time i call i am on hold forever and wiseco said they needed a part number as well.. which im trying to get the part numbers.. but the boxes are down at the machine shop.. At what HP level do you think the heavy duty rods such as the caprillo rods are necessary

500awhp will be nothing for your rod/piston combo. Dont even worry about them.

That's a big number to shoot for, what all are you going to be doing with your build? So why stroker instead of a destroked 2.1?

really want the bottom end out of the stroker and the ability to take th RPMs up to 8k easy..

Its all forged internals, eagle crank, stage 2 port and polished head with HKS 272 combo, manley spring/retainers, ferrea +1mm valves.. 1650 injectors on E85 with 2 wally 255's. on a BW s259 with AEM EMS.. and probably a shep 3 for tranny..

The car is going to be mostly strip but a fun weekend car to go out and beet up on the Big block guys in town

** wanted to throw this in really quick, how many post does it take to get to a proven member status.. I was a member on DSMtalk for couple years, and herd tuners was much better (which it is).. but the whole NEWB status looks horrible

the turbo tuff rods can handle 800 hp out of the box and streetable.:rocks:
but your pistons should be good for your hp range.:thumb:
i'd be more worried about other stuff braking

The bigger the stroke, the lower RPM's you can run. Still with a 2.3 I've seen 8.5K RPM's. People with a FULLY built 2.0 had revved to 10K+. But it seems like you have a good build going and good luck to you.

Thanks man, really can't wait till it is done.. shooting for mid july (hopefully) want to drive it down to the buscher shootout :hellyeah:
