I am tuning my 90 laser and i am using the mass airflow transilator and AEM wide band.
I have stock injectors and a stock fuel pump. I am running 16 psi and my airfuel ratio seems to be changing all the time. Some times at idle it is like 10 to 1 constant for a few minutes and then it changes to 14 or 15 (jumps) When i go WOT it is down like 11 to 1 , but as soon as i let off it goes all over the place. Is this common?

Does this problem happen when your engine is cold/hot?

I bet you had that problem before the MAFT was put on.

You can always richen things up to avoid a lean mix. But it won't solve all your problems.

I am having a similar problem.

I have been watching my injector pulses, and it seems to bounce. At idle it is at 2.0ms, then it drops to 1.6/7 then instantly jumps to 2.5/7 (or maybe it will just bounce from 2.0 to 2.2 back in forth, which seems to be a better idle).

I don't have a wb02 sensor yet, but I have been looking at every bit of data that I can view when my car lopes.

This leads me to believe that it's getting lean then adding fuel.

Anyways, I think it could be a few different things causing the problem.

1- The ISC seems to cut off a lot of air at idle. I think the ISC are junk, because I have a brand new black plastic one that seems to make no difference. I think a block off plate for the FIAV may fix the problem (the next think I'm going to test).

2-The injectors/o-rings/fuel pump/regulator. It could be that the fuel is not being delivered correctly.

I have my MAFT on blow through setup, which has helped with idle (not perfect yet). I also richened the idle, I'm still testing it, but seems to be much better and lopes less. I'm wondering how the BOV affects the MAF being mounted so close to it.

Vac leaks are always an issue too.

What's your MAFT setup?
