Ok before anybody says anything..I DID SEARCH...but found nothing that had the answers to what I needed.

Basically I am looking for, if possible, the exact part numbers of the spark plugs and wires I should get for a tune up in my '99 GS-T

I was told to get NGK's for the plugs, and more specificly the ones with the 2 tips...

I assume these are the right plugs to go with?

secondly, what about wires? I need the exact part to get wtih those as well...

Anyways those are what are mainly important to me...but if there's more parts you recommend (aka fuel filter and such) please let me know.

Thanks guys

I just use the BPR6ES plugs in the car gapped at .28 if you want the 2 electrode you can get the BPR6EKN.
Part# on a plug wire set:ME77

NGK's website showed me that info.

I replaced my fuel filter with another stock mitsu part.

NGK BPR7ES plugs (colder), 8.5mm Plug Wires(Magnacore is good, I recommend Accel), Timing belt (4G63 OEM Replacement Timing Belt Kit - bshaft belt, timing belt, tensioner pulley, water pump and auto tensioner), Fuel filter, and an oil filter.

Timing Belt Kit

Fuel Filter

K&N Oil Filter

Get an oil change, Mobil 1, and your set.

There is no need to run a range colder if you are pretty much stock. All you will do is foul the plugs faster.

The only mod in his profile is a BOV, and even with the stock turbo@15 psi there is no need to go a range colder, You'll just go through plugs faster with no real gain.

In general, switching spark plugs is not necesary unless you are experiencing ignition problems. Doing to without a legitimate reason may create more problems than you solve, as colder plugs are more prone to fouling.

From my experience, 99% of modified DSM's run the BPR7ES plugs. If they foul, buy a new set, $12 bucks isn't breaking the bank.

I use NGK 7's gapped at .28 and NGK SparkPlug wires.

No problems with either and the pretty blue wires look calming when I pop the hood...J/K ROFL

You need to get more experience. At 14½ second ¼ times, you don't have any business running 7s, either.

However, next plug comments gets this one locked.

I got more than enough modifications to put a hurting on your TSI.

You got not 1 power mod, and you call yourself a moderator. OMG

Your lucky if your out of the 15s.

I got no buisness running 7s ROFL Last time I checked the car was mine, not yours.

Why are you mockin a moderator? He has more then proven himself. This sorta crap will get you kicked out of here. :thumb: :talon:

Just stick to OEM plugs, which you can find out the exact part numbers in your repair manual. From what I understand, you need to steer clear of platinum plugs with turbo engines.

Oh, and whats a JDM Gst??

This comment is just silly, why should he have to spend 12.00 on spark plugs and have them keep fouling quick with NO gain, when he can use the 6's and not have to change the plugs all the time.

Heh...
Minor Modifications dosen't mean that he's an idiot or unfit to be a moderator.
Please ask him a few hard questions or something you can't figure out...
You may end up eating those words.

Not according to your profile. Fix it.

Modifications and knowledge don't go hand in hand. You have proven that already.

First off you advice and reasoning for that advice is weak. He doesn't need colder plugs, they wont add ANY performance to his car, if he does run them he will need to replace them more often, so it looks like you jut want him to run colder plugs with no advantage and spend more money while doing it. I'm glad more people don't think like you.

As far as you bashing a moderator, this isn't highschool so stop acting like it. Wow your car is faster, you are so cool. Some day you will see that performance and car knowledge don't go hand in hand. I know people who don't even own a performance car that have forgoten more about cars than most people on this site can remember.

Botton line is that just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you should. You should also watch yourself when bashing the mods on this board. If you don't you wont be here very long.

Boost leak test, I try to do one every other oil change.

On top of oil changes any time ANY TIME (any time)..... any time you mess with anything related to turbo's/intercoolers/vaccume lines.... do a boost leak test. It will save you hours of pounding your head in the future. Get into the habit of boost leak tests... LOL

Boost Leak Tester VFAQ

There the link on how to build the tester...

If you don't have a boost gauge, get one. (aftermarket)
And I don't know what all tools you have but you'll need to invest in some if you don't have any :)
Good thread concerning tools....

Bro, you ain't got shit on me and I'm telling you to run 6's. There is no point in running 7's on a 14 second car. I could put 5's in my car and still open up bus lengths on you so don't act like some big shot. Were trying to help you for a reason, if you don't wanna listen fine, but don't come out swinging when your a light weight in the heavy weight class.

OK, enough rant.

Here is my advice and why incase your interested. I have been there done that and can give you real info.

When you make serious HP then you can run 7's otherwise stick with 6's. What will eventually happen is you will develop a missfire and have no idea where it's coming from. Your plugs will look just fine when you pull them out, but guess what, those 7's you just insist on running will be the problem. Trust me, been there done that. My car ran 14's at one point too and I did exactly what your doing and had that problem.

I run 7's now and have to change them 3-4 times a year because of that, it's a total pain in the ass. I Have an MSD ignition too which you would think would help, well it doesn't.

Anyway, if you wanna run 7's then just keep in mind you'll have to change them a few times a year and your not gaining anything other than having to change plugs. You could run 6's and not have to worry about it, it's upto you.

When you go one range colder it takes 50 deg or so out of the combustion chamber which is good. However that also causes the spark plugs to foul quicker. You must do that on high hp cars, but it comes at a price, changing the plugs all the time. If you don't have to do it then don't. It just makes your car more unreliable, and we all have enough problems with that now.

Anyway, lets all be friends here and learn from each other, isn't that what this is about? :thumb:

what the hell happened to my thread...I was just lookin for some quick answers and it turned into a zoo! ROFL

thanks tho i got what I needed... :thumb:
