spark plugs/wires

so ive decided to get some new spark plugs and wires. my front o2 sensor was bad, so i figured id check out the plugs and see how bad they were and they looked about toasted. plus ive read that its a good idea to replace them every now again anyways, and seeing as how i recently bought this car, and dont know how long these plugs have been in, ive decided to replace them.

anyway, to my question... my car has very few mods ( k&n, hard uicp w/ 1g bov), so im wondering which plugs i should get. i read that ngk bpr7es's are the way to go, but i also read that they are only a good idea if you have a lot of upgrades. that said, would the bpr6es's be a better idea for me?

also... would it be worth it to also get ngk wires as well? i do plan on making this car fast, but not anytime really soon.

lastly... ive found that if i get new plugs, i will have to gap them. i have no idea what this means, and am curious as to how to do it. ive looked around for about an hour or so and everywhere i look people are talking about gaping new plugs, but nowhere have i found exactly how to do so.

Get the 6's, get NGK wires, not for performance because they will eliminate a headache later when your car is stuttering and you don't know why.

Gapping is simple...the spark travels between 2 pieces of metal, the electrode and the ground strap....gapping is having the proper distance between the 2. Too much and your spark won't make it and the car misfires, to little and your giving away power(big spark, better burn)....a gapping cool costs 99c. Its a tapered pice of metal you slide between the 2 until you reach the place you want, its all marked and simple.....go for about .028 They ussually come over gapped, so you tap them on something, then reopen them.

I say get the 6's too. But for wires, the accells can't be beat for price/performance. They are like 42 bucks, and are about as good as the magnacores. I was having hesitation problems with ngk wires after I took my cat off, but when I got my accells it went away.

if money wasnt an issue, what wires would you suggest i get? size? brand? anything else i would need to know?
where can i buy a "gap" ( or whatever you would call it) or would it come with the plugs?

if money were not an issue, you could get a coil-on-plug ignition for about 350 bucks. As far as getting a gapper, any local auto parts store, probably any hardware store, should have them for no more than 2 bucks, 5 if you get some fancy carbon fiber titanium coated gimic thing...

whats a coil-on-plug ignition ? would it benefit me more than just replacing the wires? would i need someone to install it for me, or can a noob install it? thanks

I wouldn't run anythign other then NGK wires unless I was getting misfires from power....maybe 450 whp is enough to make it cool. Ignition wires are really a mod for Honda's and shit where they don't have any other mods that actually do anything, so they figure they will spend 500% more for the potential 2 hp gain.

Coils turn your 12 volt battery into the 30-60 thousand volt spark....more powerful coils allow a larger gap for more power and less misfiring at high RPM's. You have a LONG ways to go before it's cool....You could get 5 HP there or 40 HP from something else for the same price.

i've ran bpr6es' and bpr7es' on both my t25 and b16g with no ill effect. magnecore wires suck and accel is the way to go :thumb:
