I'll try and make this not a confusing post.
I'm trying to remove the MAFT and switch to the ECMLink cable. Car runs fine on the MAFT but wont run with the ECMLink cable.

I bought a 2G ECMLink MAF cable to use on my 1G. My intent was to cut the 2G connector off and wire on a 1G connector. I do not see why this wouldn't work as the procedure from using a 2G MAF on a 1G is just a cable adapter.

I used these sites for reference to convert the cable from 2G to 1G:

I have double checked this and I believe this pinout is correct for converting the ECMLink cable from 2G to 1G. Can anyone find anything wrong here?

ECM Cable or 1G MAF side.

How To Wire a 1G MAF to a 2G MAF

Pin1 1g Turbo MAF => ?
Pin2 1g Turbo MAF => Pin3 2g Turbo MAF
Pin3 1g Turbo MAF => Pin4 2g Turbo MAF
Pin4 1g Turbo MAF => Pin1 2g Turbo MAF
Pin5 1g Turbo MAF => Remember to skip this terminal
Pin6 1g Turbo MAF => Pin5 2g Turbo MAF
Pin7 1g Turbo MAF => Pin2 2g Turbo MAF
Pin8 1g Turbo MAF => Pin6 2g Turbo MAF

As for settings in link I assume this is right?
I have GM 3" selected.

Solution
I may swap to that later on once I get the car road worthy. I had an old 88 Integra that was turbo and ran speed density. Thing ran great and I remember thinking that was the way to go.

Swapping the pins around did work though! Car started right up and is idling well.
After some forum browsing I stumbled across this post...

I think I may have gotten the pinout mirrored for the connector. I still dont know how because after reading the instructions again I still feel like I did it right the first time.

Either way I reversed the connections on the pins to match the picture in the post above and will give it another shot tomorrow. Will update tomorrow.

Yea ive thought about that but I would really like to get what I already have working.
All my parts are made for the GM MAF. Dont want to have to replace the intercooler piping again.
It's just a matter of changing the UICP, well worth it to have a car that runs right in all weather conditions. Maybe not such an issue in Cali but here in the NE the weather changes so often the cars just don't deal well with it.
