Hey all,

This is my first post on the boards (yay me) and I swear I searched for three days trying to figure this out on my own. I just got my Supra SMIC in this weekend and have been looking at fabbing up some hard pipes for it. The upper ICP is no sweat, but I'm not sure about the lower ICP, especially how to connect it to the turbo. I looked at the VFAQ on the install, and honestly, that is a $h!tty looking install. I would like to go ahead and make the entire pipe. The routing of the pipe is the easy part. I just can't figure out how to get the pipe to mount to the turbo outlet. When looking at the turbo outlet flange they sell at RRE, the hole is only 1 1/2"; there is no way in hell I am going to be able to weld a 2 1/2" pipe to it. How big of a pipe can be welded to that flange and how should i go about tapering it up to 2 1/2".

Thanks,

Greg Heineken :talon:

Cut 2 long and narrow "V" notches at the end of the 2.5 pipe you need to taper. Very carefully bring the ends in to 1.5 and so you only have 2 straight seams to weld. That's how RRE tapers their J-pipe.
