OK so I am trying to get the stupid pipe off to change a coupler and man o man  I can't they dang pipe off. Do I have to remove either the turbo or the intercooler?

WTF You definately should not have a hard time taking this off. Make sure the clamps are nice and loose. Then just pull the pipe away from the original position it was just in and you're good to go. It shouldn't be stuck or anything like that. If you need to, put a little muscle into it. :)

DO NOT MAKE THIS JOB ANY HARDER THAN IT NEEDS TO BE!! No, don't even think about trying to remove the turbo or intercooler. It's simply unnecessary.

Well that is what I thought, but I could not get it move cause the turbo is on the one side and the intercooler is on the other so. I will try again tonight I just didn't want to mess something up, thanks!

Just glanced at your modification list. You're rockin' with a T28 and (I assume) a SMIC, probably OEM. Again, you should have no problems. Just loosen the clamps on the compressor-side housing (aka the turbo) and the intercooler inlet (the SMIC); then just pull/jiggle until it comes off. :)

O sorry yeah it is the stock SMIC. I am trying to talk the wife into letting me get a an evo 3, but I might have to keep the T28 for a while LOL. I have a FMIC, but I need the piping. I was hoping everything would last till then, but the coupler that connects the LICP to the SMIC is ripping and now I have a boost leak :(

yep unless you've gotten it off already, yeah you will not have to remove the turbo or intercooler. I remember when I put a solid j-pipe in there, it was a tight fit...a mm longer even and it wouldn't have fit. So it's probably just in there tight (as it should be), so yeah don't worry about breaking anything, it will come out just fine.

Ben :talon:

p.s.- Tell the wife that you'll let her drive the car every once in awhile once you get the evo III in!!! :) I personally have the FP Big28, and I love it, but Evo III's are certainly going to let ya feel some DSM potential of the next level!!
