I just had my motor built. I put everything in and left the fuel pump disconnected and spark plugs out so i could build some oil pressure but i get this wierd sound coming from the starter. it spins the motor just fine and there seems to be no resistance at all. instead of going "ee-ee-ee-ee *start*" like a starter usually goes, it just goes "eeeeeeeee" and turns the engine just fine I'm looking around and there is no resistance at all. It was just fine when i put it on. The battery is fully charged. any ideas?

sounds like the starter isnt grabbing the flywheel all the way. Try rocking the car a little bit, with it in gear and the key turned to ON. That way they starter will engage, and hopefully grab the flywheel. Then try turning it over again.

i had that inclination, but I ####ed around with my spark plug wires and it worked

oh well. this thing is a BEAST. it sounds a lot like an LS-1 for some strange reason...i think my 6g72 has an identity crisis. thanks for letting me use your guys' forums, even though i am a bastard child 3g :)

Yeah, you wouldn't be building any compression, so there's not much resistance in that case.
