hey guys,
ok took the head off my 95 gst and all the valves are bent to hell,, so i have a buddy whose got a 1g head all assembled that im going to throw on my block and use
im selling the car once i get it running,, i took a chance on this one and picked it up from the PO without it running a suspossedly a new head on it that needed to be timed.... more or less he lied about a lot of things
anyways here are my questions:
whats the best way to diagnoise the bottom end of the car? i havent bought the head yet from him so i want to do everything i can to see the health of the bottom end of my motor,, ive drained the oil and theres no chunks in it or anything -- what else should i do??? should i take the oil pan off and visually inspect the bottom end??? or should i just take the oil filter off and clean it out to see what kind of metal content i have in it
second question: i am getting a new head gasket but i am reusing my head bolts ( please dont give me the DONT DO THAT because in in all theory i can,, theres nothing that says there a one time use head bolt ) again im just trying to get it running and get my money back out of it ,,, so will my 2g head bolts fit on that 1g head???
third question: the intake gasket looks good on the intake manifold, im gonna re use it but would it be a good idea to put some rtv silicon around the edges to seal it better?
thanks for the help in advance
