Trouble stasrting the car

I've been having this problem for a while now. I have to push the gas pedal half way in order to get the car to start, and at this point it is hardly idling. If i try driving before it warms up completely, it would die on me. Also after it warms up it drives fine, but the temp gauge is all the way down...when I stop at a light or something, the temp gauge slowly rises to normal temp. If it sets out for while it will have the same trouble starting. I have already changed the temp sensor but that did not do anything. Any Ideas...

replace your thermostat... sounds to me like its stuck all the way open and not letting your car warm up properly while its idling.
