Usually everyone with a stock tranny will have a problem at one point or another so please give good advice and opinions and share accurate information on what you did. Also if you know of anywhere else please list.

Look on the website and email him with any questions you may have. He has a good buddy of his named Jon that always returns a quick answer. Im going to have his budjet rebuild done and add a double synchroed 1st gear. Should be under $100 for that.

That looks really great to me, do they look over your tranny also and tell you if anything else needs replaced they dont already do?

Of coarse they do. I used to bring in my car for work all the time and he would look over everything. He does some of the best motor, tranner, exhaust, intercooler piping work ive ever seen.

On a side note, a guy named Marcus that works for him ran a 10sec 1/4 on one of his stock tranny rebuilds. Not really recommended but he did it. This was up here in high altitude also and street tires running e85.

Im pretty sure my 3rg gear fork is toast cause i cant even shift into it anymore, it just grinds and i use to feel a pop and it would go into gear finally, so that would get replaced. What other stuff would you recomend adding onto the economy rebuild?

call him up, he works late. hell be able to tell you everything you need for whatever goals you have for the car.

I have a TRE tranny with the taller 5th gear. I think they had pretty good customer service, and I realize that Jon isnt going to hire an extra person just to answer the phone. When I first called and talked to Hi-Fi, he quoted me a wrong price(cheaper), then he called me back and offered to give me the taller 5th gear option for free. After that, Jon contacted me by email a few times, and I was emailed when the tranny was shipped out. Payment went smooth, I shipped back my broken tranny and got my refund in about two weeks. Jon even emailed to tell me what had broken on the tranny I sent them. The tranny itself was in great condition when shipped to me, and it performs equally as well.

I give TRE two thumbs up.

I Have a TRE tranny in my Evo8 and I love it!!! In my talon I said F*** the 5 speed and went with a IPT built Auto tranny w/a 6000 rpm stall , 20+psi pre-loaded on the line with Slicks... Hmmm fun time..

My .02 get an AUTO from IPT... Just think push button shifting.!

Im going with shep, I talked to jack and he said his economy build only held as little above stock hp. Shep said his held 13's. Besides if you look at the shipping my god its alot.

LOL, if you look at the build its all the same. He is saying this so you upgrade the center diff and not worry so much about it breaking. One of his buddys has ran way faster than 13's on one of his trannys. This way he is safe.

Cant go wrong with Shep, only reason im doing it through Jack is because I walk to his shop, its right down the road from me.

On a side note I talked to Shep through email and told him ill be making around 350lbtq and asked what I would need for a reliable tranny. He said I really didnt need the 4 spider gear CD but the bare minimum tranny would be his stage 2. He said the stage 1 is for pretty much a stock hp level.
