Alright, I have a few questions before I drop money on a rebuild. This is a 1995 Auto GST. It has the typical 2-3 shift flare. It has to warm up quite a bit before OD decides to kick in. Sometimes when going from a stop it will go from 2nd to OD then pop into 3rd then back to OD. Then it has a fairly violent downshift from 3rd to 2nd going uphill. Also I know I at least have 2 bad engine mounts. My question is should I do a full rebuild or start by replacing the mounts and replacing the valve body and end clutches with pieces from IPT? :hmm:

Sounds like a bad/intermittent tcc solenoid and possibly a bad pcs (presssure control solenoid). If u know ## way around an auto tranny then I say go for a rebuild, but if not, don't get too hasty. They have a lot of small parts and without an overhaul manual, it sucks.

Any other suggestions? Locals shops want $2k. I saw a vendor on eBay called San Tan Transmissions that has rebuilds for $1,150 shipped with no core.
