I had two 92 N/T Talons, once had the turbo transmission in it though and was running and driving, but the car in general was just garbage.
The other one was in perfect condition but the transmission which was just the regular N/t tranny had bad synchros and etc so I figured I'd just swap the good transmission into this one and bam no problem since it was clearly possible as the other one apparently had the swap done and ran fine.
Anyways, I get the swap done, change the clutch and flywheel to get everything to fit up and the car runs drives and starts, but I have one problem...All my upper gears on my shifter knob do not engage. I have no first, third or fifth gear, yet 2nd, 4th and reverse work.
It almost feels like something is fouling out my shifter linkages so that I can't fully get into these gears.
And then the last problem is my starter now, I took the starter off of the donor car that had the turbo transmission since it started just fine, and when I cranked it over this sucker ground and broke!
SO I throw in my new stater and problem SORTA solved. But it makes a god awful noise when I turn it over, almost like the starter when it juts out it's gear doesn't retract in time or something is what it sounds like. But it will start and have no other problems once the car is up and running.
Does anyone know what could be going on here to get my gears and starter working properly?
