i have a 93 talon tsi and im having issues shifting into 1st gear and reverse and sometimes theres a grind when i shift between 2nd and up. am i gonna need a new transmission soon or could it be something else like the clutch?

First check that your clutch is bled/adjusted properly.

Once you check the clutch and it is doing the same thing, probably the synchros and yep, another trans is needed or rebuild the existing one.

does it pop out of gear?

it does not pop out of gear its just harder to get it in gear
