Can the solenoids in the transaxle be changed out with the trans still hooked up to the motor?

I'm assuming your auto. Yes you can change them with the engine mounted to the trans and still in the car.

If you need a bit more space you can remove the cooling fan off the radiator to get more access to it or remove the radiator as well. It's not a bad idea to change the engine coolant while your in there as well.
