I am currently waiting on a buddy to drop his tranny off of a 91 gvr4 to put in my 91 gvr4(due to the fact that my tranny is messed up). But my question is, that mine is a 23 spline transfer case with a 4 bolt diff. I'm not too sure about his spline count, but he has a 3 bolt transfer case. (I jus noticed this today. I didn't hesitate to question first about it since we had the same year, but I'm guessing I have a late 91) Would this be a straight switch? I'm guessing it's not going to be. Just let me know if I'm right or wrong.

Your post is a little confusing, all VR-4's came with 3 bolt rear differentials, but some people swap them out for 4 bolts.

What do you mean when you say your friend has a 3 bolt transfer case?

If you're just changing the transmission, you only need to worry about the spline count.

my fault---nevermind i had it ALL mess up. i jus talked to the previous owner and he did do the swap on my galant, but it wont matter. dont i feel stupid. thanks any way--mods can lock this.
