transmission sounds like rodknock? =o

my transmission is no good now(i think), it sounds like rod nock..i doubt its my motor. motor sounds good, idles perfect, no check engile light. KNOCK goes away when pressing clutch all the way down. its not TOB. i changed that and put new act clutch. any ideas?..
this all happend when i put an electric cutt out and turnt up the boost to 25psi and tuned it with safc to 10.8 a/f ratio..after couple pulls it started knocking. still runs except when in 2nd gear knocking gets louder. (previous problem with tranny was 3rd gear scratching and popping out..sometimes)

Tranny knocking (more like rattling) that goes away with clutch pressed in could be shaft bearings if it's not the TOB.

Mine's doing the same thing, and I've replaced the TOB twice. It's coming out for another rebuild eventually, so I'm just driving it as is until then.

=]]]] thanks. i was hopin it had to do something with the trany and not my motor.. At least i hope ## right. maybe this week ill pull out my trany and turn it on with out it and see if it still knocks

Few teeth missing from one of the gears. That's what happened to mine. Has any of your gears gone louder recently?

Also, I'd recommend getting the car to a garage on flatbed, as broken teeth can wreak havoc inside the tranny.

pull the dust cover off the bottom of the transmission and see how many pieces fall out.

havoc isnt the word....Seen what woulda been a 800dollar build end up costing double cause it put something threw the case and destroyed shafts.
