Ok so i was coming home and i noticed that when the car is NOT moving, is in gear, and the clutch is pushed in I get this noise. One of my friends said Pressure plate although it isnt a very reliable source. Anyone think they can catch this ball way out in left field?

Think it could be the result of not having enough tranny fluid? Car also pops out of 5th gear at speeds over say 70mph but i think it could be from my exhaust vibrating the shift linkage.

Its not a grinding noise, its more of a "whirring" I suppose.

New problem. I am backing out of my driveway, stop, push in the clutch and try to put it in first...nothing. Then all the clutch pressure goes away and my car stalls. Any suggestions? Im stuck here and need to get to school LOL

Master or slave clutch cylinder, get a flashlight and climb up under your steering wheel and take a look at the clutch assembly where it goes through the firewall, it's kinda up behind the gas pedal, see if it's leaking any fluid.

No clutch pressure means that there's air in the lines, which is usually caused by a faulty master or slave clutch cylinder.

I had no fluid. I filled it up and left cause i had to go to school. Today i will be replacing my thermostat as well as checking some other things. I will look under the dash to check.

OK so the leak was from a bad slave cylinder. This is where it begins to really suck. I bought one from Advanced Auto. It was 15 bucks and included everything. I believe it was a Perfection Save Cylinder. So i go to install it and notice a few things. My old slave cylinder had a red piston, this one is sliver. My old cylinder had a longer rod, and I think my old cylinder was a little longer. Now when i Installed it with the new stuff, the car wouldnt even try to go into gear. I switched back to the old rod which helped but barely. It still didnt want to go into gear but if i messed with it long enough it eventually went in. Any way you guys think you can help me?

I did bleed the system but I did not adjust the clutch pedal. Would this have a major effect on the clutch?

Well that will really suck if I have to do that...

Does anyone know the bore size of the OEM slave cylinder?
