Ok, here is the deal. I swapped my engine and tranny from a 90 GSX into a 90 TSi.

Just got everything all hooked back up and the tranny is acting funny
Now, before I go any farther, I don't have any fluids back in the car yet.
The tranny isn't engaging at all. It doesn't go into any gear. It was perfect before the swap, but not the shifter, when I'm not touching it, is leaned VERY far forward, and I can just move it around the entire shifter area and it doesn't hit anything.
Ideas?
Thanks.

Sounds like you haven't re-connected the shifter cables... Oh btw, fill the fluids back up, how do you think you'd perform if you were several quarts low...

Pull the old bracketry from your old trann yan put it on the new one. Might have been a 91 bracket on there. Anyway FWIW When I originally got my shep trans it was like that, but once fluid (obviously) was put in clutch was engaged everything was good. Still doesnt want to slide into gear when shut off But works great running.
