help transmission problems

Hey dsmer I just resently bought a talon tsi 97 it starts but doesn't drive. I found a small hole in the trans casing that was JB welding my dad said he knows a guy that can weld cast and my question is can I weld the casing and would it hold up to the presure? Please help me out here. Thanks.

is it a 5 speed or automatic?

theres very little pressure on a 5 speed trans, you'll be perfectly fine man. good luck
