Can anyone tell me what this part is called, and if/where you can buy the parts to fix? It's a 1998 eclipse GS automatic Trans. Thanks

Yeah it’s probably called the selector shaft or similar. From what I can see Mitsubishi doesn’t even list any parts available for that transmission, just a complete replacement trans. That same transmission was probably used in a bunch of other Mitsu and Chrysler models though, so finding a good used replacement probably won’t be too tough.

Thanks. I googled the transmission, and it looks like it came in a bunch of different models, but If I found a replacement out of a different car, would it be a direct fit?

Looks like you need part number 04668291 (LEVER, Manual Control) but unfortunately seems to be discontinued everywhere so it will be a junkyard only part

5 speed swap is also an option :D But that opens a new book of parts you need. I would say I'll keep an eye out at my junkyard but I've been patiently waiting for the next 2g for a year now...

Junkyard or have it welded im assuming it snapped?
Yea, bozo move on my part 😂. But was told this transmission was shot when I bought the car, and it was already pulled out. I wouldn't mind manual swapping, but I'm assuming that's way more work and I'd really like to get this thing running soon.
