Ok guys. I have a 95 AWD talon with a 90 model 6bolt in it. How can i find out if the car has a 1g trans or a 2g trans or does it even matter. I know i order the clutch for the motor.

the transmission in a 2g DSM will have the front motor mount bolted to the trans if I remember correcly. The 1g DSM transmission dont have provisions for a motor mount on the trans.

When you order a clutch make shure you go by the type of trans your have. AWD or FWD and your flywheel bolt count. Make shure it all matches and is compatable.

If your re-using your sock flywheel. Make shure you carefully inspect it for cracks, fractures, warping, and pitting. Putting a new clutch on a bad flywheel will only cause more damage in most cases.

Correct. The 1G only had one mount on it, three on the motor, the 2G's had 3 (I believe), and only one for the motor.

I'll give it a look over. The clutch i'm getting comes with new flywheel. Thanks for the info guys.

The clutch is the same for all turbo DSMs and is NOT dependent on the car being AWD, FWD, 6-bolt, or 7-bolt.

Well the trans has 3 mounts on it, so i guess that means i got the 95 AWD trans. I guess the clutch kits ask what motor it is so they can give you the proper flywheel for 6bolt or 7bolt since there is no difference in the clutch itself.

Sorry man. I should have made my posting more understandable.

The flywheels are different from FWD to AWD, and 6-bolt to 7-bolt. The clutch disk and the pressure plate is all the same yes but the flywheels are different and he needs to get the flywheel that matches his engine and AWD transmission.
