So there I am driving home about 10 miles out of my town crusing about 60 mph not beating on it at all, and my car stats poping out of 5th. I dident think much of it because it would stay in gear if I were to give it gas. Once I tried to decelarate it would pop into nutrel. Anywho, I made it home and I went to sleep. The next day I get up for work and I notice there is a huge pile of gear fluid under my car. ( my brand new royal purple synchromax  ) I looked closer at it and the right side of my car was all greasy from the gear fluid and the end part of the tranny had a half circle crack in it right around the little star designe. It is seporated and pushing out about 2cm at the top if the half circle. Now my question is im guessing the nut came off the shaft right on the other side of the cap/case (dont know the proper word) inside causing it to slip out of gear and the shaft is starting to push a hole right through the transmission end cap/case. Can I just swap the end cap/case off of a different transmission or did some pin brake as well and I have to take it off and rebuld or scrap it witch I dont want to do because my tranny has 32,000 miles on it. I will take the end cap/caseing off after school and take a closer look and get back to this.
THANKS FOR ANY HELP IN ADVANCE:talon: :talon:

Yes you should be able to use any end cap off any 1g tranny. hopefully with that nut comming off it didnt destroy the black plastic oil galley that carries gear oil to the 5th gear area. If it did, probably gonna have to pull off the tranny.

Took it off today and the gally was ok. Just replaced the end cap I just put the nut back on and im waiting for my gear oil tomarow. I torked it down as much as I could with a 3foot braker bar so I hope it dosen't hapen again. Ill fire it up and see what it does tomarow. THANKS for the help man.

did you indent one of the sides of the nut?? the best thing to do is tighten the nut down then use a hammer and screwdriver and dent down one of the sides of the nut. This prevents it from comming off again.

good call. its a very good idea to indent that nut so you never have to deal with that problem again
