Hi.I am rebuilding my transmission and my 1st gear got good amount of play.Can someone tell me how much is the maximum play i can have?

I would contact Jack's transmission. I've personally called and had questions that he was happy to answer. Great customer service, solid info and he has good prices on parts that he uses. I'm sure shep and t.r.e are cool too, I just haven't dealt with them yet.
