Transfer case problems

So I got a 2g transfer case for my 1996 assuming it was a 1995-1996 model and I still think it might be but when I turn corners and hit a bumb the rear end will fish tais,l I got all my suspension looked at struts that's all fine so if it is a 97-98 transfer case with a diff gear ratio will that be the cause of the fish tailing ? How long would the transmission hold with out blowing up? Thanks!!

Why don't you pull it out and check just to be sure.

If you've been driving it awhile your VC probably took a beating. 91-96 are the same not just 95-96. Even a 90 could be used but the spline count is different. Change that shaft and that can work also.
