ok i dont know if this is the right place to ask this but i need to know. i want to do the awd swap on my 97 m/t eclipse. i have a 96 awd a/t talon laying around with no engine or tranny and is far from running condition so i decided to use it as a donor car. i have all the parts for the swap except the transmission. my question is can i use the trasfercase from my a/t talon or is there a differece in auto and manual transfercases? and will i need a 97-99 m/t trans or will any m/t trans from 95-99 work?

I've heard that if you are swapping the tranmissions to make sure your trasfer case matches the year of your tranny. 95-96 or 97-99. I also heard that automatic and stick shift torque converters are different because they have different spline counts.

The 95,96 and the 97,99 tranys have a different final drive. Therefore you must use transfer case from same years to get proper rear output ratio.
