trans rattle

Ok let me start with i hear a rattle only when the car is moving . It sounds like its coming from the fr wheel. So what i did was jack the car up on stands , started it ,and put it in gear when i let the drive train engage. i noticed that the only wheel that was not spinning was the fr. It almost seems to me like the wheel will not engage. Has anyone had this problem?

If you repeat this and hold the left front wheel the right front should start spinning. If it doesn't spin something is most likely wrong with your front differential. I am assuming the axle itself has not failed.

It could be a bad hub; Try spinning the wheel in question, if the hub is bad it will feel like it has sand in the bearing (not the best description, but I'm sure you get the point).

Maybe the rotor backing plate is rubbing or there is debris in the rotor itself?

if it was in gear and running off the ground all 4 wheels should have been spinning. there is deffinatley something not good going on. check the axle, i would also go for a drive, then when you stop, see if the wheel in question is hot. it could be a hanging caliper. ive had odd noises when a caliper went south and stuck.
