Trans or clutch?

Ok built trans as much as you can with fwd and also have lsd. Last night did a pull from 3rd to 4th. Pulled really well it was cool night. Almost top of 4th something let loose (5K rpm). Almost like the clutch went. rpm rev'd up and a lot of clunking in the trans almost sounded like something was dragging off the car. I have clutch pedal still. When I pulled off the road and try to engage the car again it would bang pretty good. So got it towed home. Anyone want to take a guess what happened? Ill going to pull the flywheel cover and see anything comes out. This weekend I hope I can tear into a little. Also the clutch was act 2100 with maybe 4k miles on it.

i was passing a car and got on it pretty good one, between 3rd and 4th, also heard something to the effect that you did, pulled the tranny and my pressure plate clutch side was broke in half. You may have the same thing.

I dont really know how it can be worn. It has 4k miles and never slipped. Even when it let loose last night I didnt smell clutch or anything and it wasnt slipping. It held perfect and then something broke.

You are going to have to pull the transmission anyway, just pull it and see.

Well found my issue. Broke an axle doing a pull. Guess to much power.
