Trans drain plug thread size and pitch

trying to figure out the thread size and pitch of the transmission drain plug,

Looking to replace it with a magnetic one.

any help on the thread and pitch would be appreciated.

The engine oil drain plug is M14 x 1.50, the transmission plug is probably the same. Don't you still have the old one to measure? Why do you want a magnetic drain plug? Nearly the whole transmission is made of aluminum and brass (i.e. non-magnetic).

I order one for the engine and thought I should for the trans also.

But i guess since it doesnt seem as tho it would even help ill wait on it.

I mean, obviously the gears and shafts are made of steel, but if you damage those to the point where there are particles in the fluid, you might as well get a new transmission.

The gearbox has a strip-magnet in the case already. A well used transmission should have only minimal filings on it. Shavings, or a lot of filings, indicates the need for repair or replacement.

As an example, my 100k+ tranny had only the slightest peppering of fine filings on the magnet, and was only noticeable upon inspection.
