Tranny took a SH*T... need info

Okay so my 95 eclipse 420A AUTOmatic tranny just died, well atleast i think... it makes a wierd squeling noise and jumps gears and wont go into gears sometimes. but i was wondering what all trannys would fit in? or if my tranny even went?

I have had many trans issues on many different vehicles along my time doing cars as well as working on others. I know this isnt what you are asking for but I suggest getting ahold of Mark at Metro Trans and doing a basic rebuild instead of looking for a used trans and going through the headache of it possibly being bad. I hope this helps BTW he is the best at these DSM trans.

As much as i hate to say this, go to a junk yard and buy one. they usually giva ya 30 day warranty on them and it will get you going the fastest for the cheapest amount of money if you can replace the tranny yourself. Im figuring no more them $400 for one. Atleast thats why they run for a junk yard one in WI. Good luck

This may seem like more work then you would like but get the junkyard one. Then have the other rebuilt and then reinstalled. You never know how good the junkyard one really is

I went through 3 junkyard trannys over a weekend once before i finally got a good one. So yea, its a crap shoot. But they offer (usually) a 30 day warranty on them. But if you can replace it yourself its a hell of a lot cheaper then taking it somewhere and having it rebuilt.
