Finished our motor rebuild and put on a new billet 5k stall torque converter... Motor runs strong but tranny not going into reverse... Tranny was fine before engine pull out and converter replacement. All linkages are adjusted properly and all electrical connections to tranny are connected. Noticed reverse lights don't come on. Is there some kind of reverse solenoid other than the linkage? Thanks.

no reverse is linkage controlled.......if you have 3rd you should have reverse (since that's what u have in limp mode if all electronics fail) unless there is something wrong internally.

some things to look at:

-shifter linkage
-gear selector assembly
-valve body

those are the easiest fixes....otherwsie means something is wrong internally.....
