A tech and I have listened just about everywhere (with a stethescope) with the car on a lift and cannot find this noise. when i am driving and have my windows down and go by a wall or something to create an echo of my car i hear a faint, quick (and gets faster as i speed up) clicking noise almost like metal on metal. its not my lifters or injectors, i know what those sound like, and i am pretty sure it does it only when i am in gear. thank you for any help or clue! :dsm:

Try getting a microphone and running it to a laptop or something tape it to the inside of your engine at various places and record the sound.

Then put some wicked beats to it. and mix up some slick tracks and sell it to a dance club!

nah seriously. that'll help you figure out where the sound is comming from if your not sure. I'v done it with a POS ford I had that ended up being a steering knuckle.
